Kiwanis Bike Rental Program
Pedal your way to a wild adventure—and support the zoo while you do it!
Thanks to our partnership with Kiwanis International, guests can rent bikes during their visit and explore Chahinkapa Park on two wheels. All proceeds from the bike rentals directly benefit Chahinkapa Zoo’s animal care, education, and conservation programs.
Carousel rental is available for large groups. Please call the zoo for details.
About Prairie Rose Carousel
Built in 1926 and fully restored by local artisans, the Prairie Rose Carousel is a treasured piece of Americana with 20 hand-carved wooden horses — each one original and full of personality. Housed in a beautifully designed building, this historic ride continues to spin joy into every generation.

Will and Rich
These two horses were sponsored by Will-Rich Manufacturing of Wahpeton.
Jerida and Jedari
These two horses were sponsored by Bill and Betty Richardson and were named for their two grandchildren. The letters of each name were combined in two different ways.
Pat and Della
These horses were sponsored by Della Stern and name for herself and Pat Stern.
Sugar
Named by Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative. This was the first horse restored
